Your example of stock margins was funny to me bc back in 2021 when I was in college I wanted to buy specific vinyl record and so I sold my Netflix stock to do so (I only had like $100 worth) and the day I sold ended up being the end of its rally and it cratered like 75% over the next 6 months lol

Trying to understand how any one is able to save money right now…

I worked for the biggest online shopping platform in the world. Guess who?😂 I was treated like I was worth less than nothing every day, regardless of my achievements. Millions of dollars worth of product pass through my hands monthly. I alone made them hundreds of thousands, if not Millions a month. I made enough to pay my bills, pay for my own benefits, and probably have about 400 bucks left to figure the rest out. But we got a sick pizza party once a year if we work as fast as humanly possible. Even then.. "there's always room for improvement 😊. "👍👍🖕🖕

Be even more frugal with 'women' if you are a man. If she stays it means she rly likes you.

If you look at the S and P 500 the real growth has been coming from about 10 companies…….yet people continue to invest in the duds. I look at what a hypothetical $10k would have done over 5 and 10 years.

I wash, and reuse zip-lock bags. If I'm only using a paper towel to dry clean hands, or a water splash/spill, I let it dry, and use it again, then toss it. I don't like mildewed rags, with spaghetti sauce wipings on them, laying about.

It gets even worse in a union job. I used to work in the film biz, which is notorious for working crews hard enough to death, and the unions won’t even deal with flagrant violations of the very rules they had a hand in creating. People die, or get worked hard enough to injury, and they do nothing… except get their five-figure pay off. The “hard work” paradigm applies here as well- those who work hard get shafted, while those who BS their way through the business work up. And the same idiot CEO of the studio will make even dumber ideological decision that ruin the business as a whole.

I think the pandemic and working form home gave a lot of people more time with their spouses and children. A lot of people saw that they could still do their work perfectly fine without having to commute 5 days a week. People started to see how much of their time was being wasted sitting at a desk in some corner office. Not to mention this happened at the zenith of the baby boomers retiring. A huge generation that has been the financial powerhouse of spending is now traversing to being a huge powerhouse of drawing money from the system. The corporations are trying to replace high paid workers with newer and younger workers with the same, if not more skills, while trying to pay them less than what the previous person who retired was making. Not to mention the younger generations do not have this spending power to purchase all the crap they are trying to sell. I saw that by the 2050s and 2060s the world population will start declining because in the western world people are choosing to only have 1 child if any children at all because of the cost of living. Look at how the Chinese economy grew from 1980 to 2020, but now with the pandemic and their one child policy, their population is in decline and globalization is slowing down. We saw what happens when we rely on 20+ countries building 50+ parts for an item to be built during a world wide crisis. The world is in a unique position and modern CEOs are trying to run the same business as usual model like they have done since WWII.

The more money you have, the more options you have. When you depend on some one else to live whether it be government or family, you lose your freedom.

I have more than 10k saved and invested. Car’s paid off and very fuel efficient. I have almost no debt. And yet somehow, life doesn’t seem to get any easier. I feel empty everyday and am always worried about getting laid off due to company restructuring(and the company has been restructuring for the last 10 years). I don’t go on vacations because of that. Job market is tough. It’s hard to find a job that’s more stable. I’ve been slaving away at this dead end job doing something I don’t like and am not good at. At my age, it’s a little hard to switch to another profession. I am working on it, but I can’t even get past the first step which is “find something you like”. It just seems like life is on a downward trajectory.

Yes I agree. I can’t stand bullies. Under appreciated fake company’s. I have yet to get a raise in 4 years. When they give raises. It may come to 55$ a week. When everything else has gone up Hard to even save for retirement even. It just gets worse. Not better Your right. Better to become self employed. You're nothing more than a warm body. There is little to no loyalty in the job market. That's the biggest issue today.

No. 10k is far from what you really need. This video might have been correct 10 years ago, but it's no longer the case.

Or..... You can Save $104.16 a week for 4 Weeks thats $416.64 a Month X 12 is $4,999.68 Which is easier to save without being late on Bills. So in 1 Year you have atleast 5k! But 10k is the way to go too!

Inflation has risen at a rate much higher than wages over the last 50 years. Your grandparents could afford a family, a house and a car on 1 salary. Now both spouses have to work to barely make it. It’s only going to get worse. If you take away the incentive to work, people won’t work.
